EVALUATION OF MUSIC EDUCATION ACTIVITIES OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN TURKEY AND EUROPE BETWEEN 2000-2013

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to state what kind of a range it shows on the musical education studies that are done with the children who need special care in Turkey and Europe. It is thought that by examining the thesis and article studies which are prepared for the people with special care in musical education area from different aspects will be useful in terms of seeing the general framework of the studies made in this area. With this purpose, data is found by researching resources in Turkey and European on music therapy with special needed children. In this framework, document examining has been done and the studies that are done on musical education with special needed people in Turkey and Europe are gathered under 6 main titles, which are; (1) by the years, (2) by the purposes, (3) by the method, (4) by the kind of the disability, (5) by the ages, (6) by the countries. 11 past-graduate thesis and 13 articles has been done in Turkey, on the contrary, It is a descriptive research that its results are stated and then interpreted. In the end of the research, it is stated that; %37,14 of it was made between the years 2005-2011, %54,28 of it was made with the purpose of Rehab and Treatment, %65.71 of it was made upon an experimental study, %37,14 of it was made in the disability called autism, %54,28 ıf it was made on people who are 16 and over, %68,57 of it was made in Turkey.
