Abstract

This study was conducted to develop a scale for determining teachers’ degrees of fidelity to curriculum. The population of the study was made up of all the teachers working in the central district of Bingöl. 167 teachers were included in the study through the use of random sampling method. After literature review, a pool of items was created, a draft form was prepared, expert opinions were taken and then the form was evaluated by a referee team which was made up of teachers. After the experts’ feedback were received, the items, half of which were written as positive and the other half of which were negative, were copied and applied. For the validity and reliability of the scale, item-total correlation and exploratory factor analyses were made respectively, and items with a load value of less than .32 were omitted from the scale. According to the results of the factor analysis, the load values of the 20 items varied between .355 and .757, and Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient of the single-factor scale was calculated to be .892. The single factor structure explains 35.815% of the total variance. According to the result of the study, a valid and reliable Likert-type scale was developed.
