Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the experimental method practice according to various variables by teachers in the science and nature lessons The study was conducted on 185 preschool teachers who worked in public and private preschools in 3 counties in Konya. A 36-item survey form developed by the researchers were used on the teachers to gather the data. The results were transferred to SPSS 15.0 package program and analysed through one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis H Test. The results of the study are as follows: it was found that the state of preschool teachers as regards using experimental method in science and nature lesson varied significantly according to the seniority and educational level of the teachers. It was also found that the state of self-efficiency feeling of preschool teachers as regards using experimental method in science and nature lesson varied significantly according to the seniority and educational level of the teachers. Another finding is that the positive attitudes of preschool teachers toward the significance of using experimental method in science and nature lesson varied significantly according to the seniority and educational level of teachers.
