5-6 AGED PRESCHOOL TERM CHILDREN’S MOTHERS’ VIEWS ABOUT CHILDRENS’ TELEVISION WATCHING HABITS AND TELEVISION PROGRAMMES OKUL ÖNCESİ DÖNEM 5-6 YAŞ ÇOCUKLARININ TELEVİZYON İZLEME ALIŞKANLIKLARI VE TELEVİZYON PROGRAMLARI HAKKINDA ANNE GÖRÜŞLERİ
Television has been an irrevocable part of people life since it appear. Nowadays, there is a television in every house. Thereby, children’s interaction with television starts small ages. Being selective about the programs that the child watch is important to prevent negative effects of television. In this research, it is aimed to investigate views of mothers who have 5-6 aged children. Participants are 63 mothers have 5-6 aged children, medium and higher socio-economic level, in Kadıköy and Beşiktaş İstanbul in 2014. (N=63). Semi structured interviews made with 10 of them. Percentage and frequencies used as statistic techniques . As a result, important part of children watch TV in a day, important part of them don’t have TV in their rooms, big part of them watch cartoons on TV.
