Abstract

The aim of this paper is to use a descriptive-interpretative study to critically examine the subject of "speaking skills in modern regional teaching" within the framework of the subject of German as a foreign language in Turkey; An inductive method is used. In this context, this is a qualitative research method, which is applied in a comparative content analysis. The question is how the modern foreign language courses are equipped with the German as a foreign language "Deutschkasten" and "Wie bitte?", which are produced regionally on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Teaching in Turkey and promote speaking. The ability to speak is usually a goal-oriented or intermediate-level language in foreign-language teaching, which is very difficult to convey and practice in this context. For this purpose, various criteria and principles for the analysis of teaching materials have been researched and consulted, for example The Stockholm Criteria Catalog, criteria for the design of autonomous teaching courses and other quality features for course books. After examining these criteria and characteristics of the analysis of course books, some basic assumptions that are normally applicable to international teaching work have been found for the analysis carried out. Therefore, there were changes, which were partly due to the mentioned characteristics, but in this study is a shortened and extended version of criteria. They refer to the ability to talk.
