Abstract

In this study, affects of illustrative daily flow chart and traditional instruction practice in special education classes, on students’ motivation to be involved to the lesson were examined comparatively. This research was applied in two special education classes in Düzce Hürriyet Secondary School in 2015-2016 school year. The study was designed with BCBC models of multitreatments designs of comparative single subject designs. Dependent variable is, students level of being involved in the lesson; and independent variables are the intervention of illustrated daily flow chart and traditional instruction practice. Data were collected by video recording and whole interval recording in 10 seconds. Inter-observer reliability data were collected in 40% of the interveniton sessions. Interobserver reliability is found 93%. As a result, it was observed that intervention of illustrated daily flow chart has increased the students’ motivation to be involved to the lesson more than traditional method.
