Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between self esteem and discipline methods of preschool teachers. The research was based on relational screening model from descriptive research methods. The research data were collected from 163 preschool education teachers working in private and public preschool educational institutions. "Personal Information Form", "Self Esteem Scale" and "The Teacher’s Understanding of Discipline Scale" were used for data collecting. Gender, age, years of professional experience, grade of graduation, type of school, socioeconomic status of the institution, reasons for choosing the profession of the teacher and the place of the profession were taken into consideration as variables. As results, there is a significant difference between self-esteem their professional experience year and there is a positive meaningful relationship between self-esteem and teacher discipline methods of preschool teachers.
