Abstract

Intensive academic processes are likely to affect students' emotional, behavioral and cognitive development negatively. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between school burnout and school achievement level of middle school students who continue or do not attend training courses. The study group of study consisted of 417 students in 6 different middle schools and 7th grade in a province center. The data of the study were collected using "Personal Information Form" developed by the researchers and "School Burnout Scale for Secondary School Students" developed by Aypay (2011). Independent samples t-test and Pearson Coefficient of Correlation were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the levels of school burnout differed according to the factor of school attendance and class level, the level of school burnout did not differ according to the gender variable, and the level of school burnout decreased when the English lesson success was increased.
