Abstract

When the factors influencing the learning performance of the students in the class are examined, it is seen that the disciplinary problems and the concepts of class management are the forerunners. The purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of the classroom teachers on the disciplinary problems experienced by the students. Classroom teachers who teach in Istanbul are the universes of studying. Semi-structured interviews were conducted from qualitative research methods. The study group consisted of 25 classroom teachers and 12 questions were asked to them about teachers' disciplinary problems in the classroom. The research was conducted using interview techniques from qualitative research techniques. The sample of the study was selected in accordance with the maximum diversity sampling technique. Verbal data gathered using semi-structured interview technique were analyzed following data reduction, data presentation and conclusion steps. Interpretations were made by using the frequency distributions of the data processed in the themes and categories. According to the results of the research, teachers' opinions about disciplinary problems were divided into themes such as Disciplinary Perception and Classroom Management and Discipline Relations, and different categories were supported.
