Abstract

Abstract Higher education institutions are responsible to improve qualified people. Therefore, these institutions ought to make educational policy by taking in consideration variables that effect student success and they provide equality of opportunity at education for disadvantage group. In this study, it was aimed to determine the variables affecting academic achievement levels of Bozok University Faculty of Education students. The study group compose of a total of 619 students studying science, primary mathematics, pre-school, primary school, social science and psychological counseling and guidance teaching between the year of 2013-2016. This is a causal comparison study. Pearson Chi-Square and Fisher Freeman Halton Test were used in the data analysis. All analyzes were performed using the R3.3.2 program. Consequensly,variables of "gender, the secondary school they graduated, the department they studied, the educational status of the parents, the department that they want to study Academic achivement, student success, student and parents properties.
