Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to compare the success of musical teacher candidates in piano lessons with their perceptions of piano achievements. In this context, piano lesson success grades of the students in the study group were obtained from the period when the study was conducted. After the relevant course lists were obtained from the university information management system, "Perception of success in Piano Education” questionnaire developed by Kurtuldu (2010) was applied to the students. This questionnaire attempts to determine views of students about piano achievements and how students perceive success. The obtained data were compared with scores from the piano lessons, which were taken from piano score lists. Anova test and correlation relationship are the preferred measurement types in comparative measurements. When the results of the measurements and comparisons were examined, it was understood that there was no meaningful correlation between the students' perception of achievement and their success in the piano lesson.
