Abstract

“Çiftlerin uyum düzeyleri ile duygusal zekâ düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi” konulu bu araştırma 125’i kadın 125’i erkek olmak üzere 250 evli çift üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmada katılımcılara Bar-On Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği, Çift Uyum Ölçeği ve Demografik Bilgi Formu uygulanmıştır. Bar-on duygusal zeka ölçeğinin 15 alt boyutu olan; iyimserlik, mutluluk, dürtü kontrolü, strese dayanıklılık, esneklik, gerçekçilik, problem çözme, sosyal sorumluluk, kişiler arası ilişkiler, empati, bağımsızlık, kendini gerçekleme, kendine saygı, kararlılık, duygusal benlik bilinci ve çift uyum ölçeğinin 4 alt boyutu olan; fikir birliği, memnuniyet, duygusal ifadelendirme ve çiftlerin uyumu ile demografik özelliklerin ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularında evli eşlerin çift uyum düzeyi ile duygusal zekâ düzeyi arasında anlamlı ilişki olduğu görülmektedir. Duygusal zekânın iyimserlik alt boyutu ile evlilik uyumunun fikir birliği, doyum, duygusal ifadelendirme boyutları arasında düşük düzeyde ilişkiler olduğu görülmektedir. Duygusal zekânın mutluluk alt boyutu, evlilik uyumunun fikir birliği, doyum, duygusal ifadelendirme ve uyum boyutları ile orta düzeyde ilişkili bulunmuştur. Çiftlerin duygusal zeka ve çift uyum düzeyinde cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmektedir. Ayrıca çiftlerin, yaşamını geçirdiği yer, çalışma durumu, çocuk sahibi olup olmama durumu, eğitim düzeyi, evlilik biçimi gibi demografik özellikler duygusal zekâ ve çift uyumunun alt boyutları açısından nasıl farklılaştığı incelenmiştir. Bulgular literatür ışığında tartışılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Abstract

This research paper, which issued “Investigating the relationship between the dyadic adjustment level and the emotional intelligence level of the couples” subject, was conducted by working with 250 married people including 125 male and 125 female attendants. The attendants of the research were applied Bar-on Emotional Quotient Inventory, Dyadic Adjustment Scale and Demographic Data Questionnaire. The relationship between the demographic features of 15 sub-dimensions of Bar-on Emotional Quotient Inventory (Emotional Intelligence) which are optimism, happiness, self-regard, emotional self-awareness, assertiveness, independence, self-actualization, empathy, social responsibility, interpersonal relationship, stress tolerance, impulse control, reality-testing, flexibility and  problem-solving  and the demographic features of 4 subscales of Dyadic Adjustment Scale which are  dyadic consensus, dyadic satisfaction, dyadic cohesion and affectional expression were investigated.  According to findings, there is a significant relationship between the level of dyadic satisfaction of married spouses and the level of emotional intelligence. It is observed that there was a low level of relationship between the optimism sub-dimension of emotional intelligence and consensus of dyadic satisfaction, satisfaction, and emotional expression. The happiness sub-dimension of emotional intelligence was found to be moderately related to the consensus, satisfaction, emotional expression and adjustment dimensions of dyadic satisfaction. It is seen that there is no significant difference between couples' emotional intelligence and dyadic satisfaction level according to gender. In addition, demographic characteristics such as the place where the couples spend their lives, working status, whether they have children or not, the level of education, the type of marriage have been examined. The findings were discussed in the light of the literature and recommendations were made.
