Abstract
Eleştirel düşünme becerisinin geliştirilmesi, ilköğretimden üniversiteye kadar bütün eğitim kademelerinde önemli bir amaç olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada İzmir ilinin Bayındır ilçesindeki lise öğrencilerinin eleştirel düşünme eğilimlerinin düzeyi araştırılmıştır. Veriler Akbıyık (2002) tarafından geliştirilen “Eleştirel Düşünme Eğilimleri” ölçeği uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini İzmir ilinin Bayındır ilçesindeki lise öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Evrenin tamamına ulaşmak mümkün olmadığından lise öğrencilerinden oranlı küme örnekleme yöntemiyle 450 lise öğrencisi örnekleme alınmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde “SPSS (Statistical Packages for Social Sciences) for Windows” paket programı kullanılmıştır. Ölçme aracının iç tutarlılığı Cronbach's Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı r= 0, 57’dir. Bu çalışmanın bulgularına göre lise öğrencilerinin çoğunluğunun eleştirel düşünme eğilimine sahip oldukları ve sınıf farklılıklarının önemli bir etkiye sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract
Development of critical thinking skills has been considered as an important purpose at the entire education stages, from primary to university educations. In this study, the level of critical thinking tendencies of high school students from Bayındır, a district of İzmir province, was investigated. Data were obtained by applying “Critical Thinking Tendency” scale, reported by Akbıyık (2002). Students from the district of İzmir province, Bayındır, constituting the research’s population. Since it was impossible to attain the whole population, 450 students were taken to sampling by the proportional cluster sampling method. “SPSS (Statistical Packages for Social Sciences) for Windows” software was used to evaluate the data. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability co-efficient of the measurement tool is r=0,57. According to the results of this study, it was concluded that most of the high school students have critical thinking tendency and class distinction has an important effect.
