Derslerde Metafor Kullanımına İlişkin Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Görüşleri (Beyin Kavramı Metaforu Örneği)

Abstract
Bu çalışma, derslerde metafor kullanımına ilişkin üniversite öğrencilerinin görüşlerinin incelenmesi (beyin kavramı metaforu örneği ile) üzere yapılmıştır. 2018 yılında, 2 haftada yapılan bu çalışmaya Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesi formasyon programına kayıtlı öğrenciler (N=36) rastgele seçilerek dahil edilmiştir. Nitel olarak yapılan çalışmada olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak açık uçlu görüşme soruları kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada öğrencilere öncelikle metaforların nasıl kurulacağı konusunda bilgiler verilmiştir. Sonra metafor örneğini oluşturma ve derslerde metafor kullanımın olumlu ve olumsuz yönlerin yazmaları istenmiştir. Veriler, içerik analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucunda, üniversite öğrencileri derslerde metafor kullanımının en çok öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırmaya etkisinin olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Ancak derslerde metafor kullanım sürecinde, yanlış metafor kullanımı-somutlaştırılamama gibi olumsuz yönde bir etkisinin olduğu ifade etmiştir. Bu sonuçlara bakılarak derslerde metafor kullanımı için bazı önerilerde bulunmuştur.

Abstract
This study was conducted so as to investigate the views of the university students on using metaphor in lessons (with the example of the brain concept metaphor). Students (N=36), registered to Mardin Artuklu University pedagogical formation department and selected randomly, were included in the study which was performed in two weeks in 2018. In this study based on qualitative investigation, phenomenal pattern was utilized. Open ended interview questions were used as data collecting tool. The students were initially informed about how to set up metaphors in the study. Then they were asked to create examples of metaphors and write positive and negative aspects of metaphor use in lessons. Data obtained were analysed with the help of content analysis. As a result of this analysis, the students reported that use of metaphors in the lesson had an effect on facilitating learning most. However, in the process of metaphor use in lessons, they reported that wrong metaphor usage had a negative effect such as not being able to concretize. In the lights of these results, some suggestions were made for metaphor use in lessons.
