Abstract
Ülkemizde özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimlerini eğitim sisteminin en önemli unsurları içerisindedir. Bilim ve Sanat Merkezleri bu önemli görevi yerine getiren bir kurumdur. Bilim ve Sanat Merkezleri özel yetenekli öğrencilere, örgün eğitimde aldıkları eğitimin ek olarak destek eğitimi vermektedir. Özel yetenekli öğrencilerin aileleri çocukları konusunda oldukça hassas ve bilinçlidirler. Bilinçli bu aile profilinin çocuklarına eğitim veren kurumlardan beklentileri olacağı tahmin edilmiştir. Çocuğu Bilim ve Sanat Merkezinde devam eden ailelerin beklentilerinin tespit edilip, bu beklentilere çözüm üretilmesi araştırmada amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri alanında uzman araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu” aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma Fenomonolojik desenli Nitel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma 2022-2023 eğitim öğretim yılı içerisinde Mersin’in Mut ilçesinde çocuğu Bilim ve Sanat Merkezine devam eden 16 aile üyesi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler Betimsel Analiz Tekniği kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, ailelerin çocuklarının ilgi ve yeteneklerine dikkate alınarak, kaygı düzeyleri arttırılmadan, mutlu bir şekilde kendilerini gerçekleştirecek bir eğitim verilmesini beklemektedirler. Verilen eğitimin çocuğun hayal gücünü törpülememesi ve onu hayata hazırlaması ailelerin bir diğer beklentileridir. Aileler öğretmenlerden çocukları ile bireysel olarak ilgilenmelerini ve proje ağırlıklı çalışmalarını beklemektedirler. Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi yönetiminden ise fiziki alt yapının güçlendirilmesi, materyallerin zenginleştirilmesi, güvenlikli bir ortam sağlanması, aile bilgilendirilmeleri yapılması, kurumun tanıtılması beklentiler arasındadır. Çocukların birbirine saygı duyması ve iş birliği içinde çalışmaları, diğer ailelerin çocuklarını olumlu anlamda bile etiketlememeleri diğer beklentileridir. Aileler akademik başarı odaklı bir eğitimi ise istememektedirler.

Abstract
In our country, the education of gifted students is one of the most important elements of the education system. Science and Art Centers is an institution that fulfills this important task. Science and Art Centers provide support education to gifted students in addition to the education they receive in formal education. Parents of gifted students are very sensitive and conscious about their children. It has been predicted that this conscious family profile will have expectations from the institutions that provide education to their children. It is aimed in the research to determine the expectations of the families whose children continue in the Science and Art Center and to find solutions to these expectations. Research data were collected through the "Semi-Structured Interview Form" developed by experts in the field. The research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological pattern. The research was carried out with 16 family members whose children attend the Science and Art Center in the Mut district of Mersin in the 2022-2023 academic year. The obtained data were analyzed using the Descriptive Analysis Technique. As a result of the research, families expect their children to be given an education that will happily realize themselves without increasing their anxiety levels, taking into account their children's interests and abilities. Another expectation of families is that the education given does not erode the imagination of the child and prepare him for life. Families expect teachers to deal with their children individually and to work on projects. Strengthening the physical infrastructure, enriching the materials, providing a safe environment, informing the family, and promoting the institution are among the expectations from the Science and Art Center management. Other expectations are that children respect each other and work cooperatively, and that other families do not even label their children positively. Families do not want an education focused on academic success.
