The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of activities organized with augmented reality (AR) applications on students' academic achievement in mathematics courses and to examine students' opinions about AR applications. A multistage mixed method was used in the research. While the quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control group was used in the quantitative dimension of the research, the case study design was used in the qualitative dimension. According to the results of the research, it was determined that there was a significant difference in the academic achievement post-test scores of the experimental and control group students in favor of the experimental group. According to the information obtained from the semi-structured interview forms, students stated that they found AR applications fun, eye-catching, facilitating the visualization and learning of abstract concepts, increasing interest in the course and increasing the permanence of what was learned.

The study group of the research consists of a total of 415 teachers, 242 female and 173 male, working in public primary-secondary schools in Mersin. The Datas were collected with the 'Teachers' Career Obstacles Scale' (TKEÖ) and the 'Teachers' Understanding of Classroom Discipline Scale' (SİDAÖ). In the research results, no significant difference was found between the gender variant and teachers' classroom discipline attitudes and teachers' career obstacles. A significant difference was found between the seniority variant and teachers' strict disciplinary attitudes. Likewise, there is a significant difference between the seniority variant and the sub-dimensions of teachers' career obstacles, which are family obstacles, personal-economic obstacles and higher education-related obstacles. Finally, the disciplinary attitudes variant causes a significant difference on the sub-dimensiond of teachers’ career obstacles which are familial obstacles, personal economic obstacles, political union obstacles, and higher education-related obstacles.

Educational management is a discipline that covers the effective planning, organization, execution and supervision processes of an educational organization or learning environment. The characteristics of leaders in educational management have serious effects on organizations, either positively or negatively. The Cinderella complex expressed in this study is one of the important concepts that affect these processes. Women with this complex have always waited for a hero from outside, ignoring their own selves, personalities and characters throughout their lives. In educational organizations, this situation has extremely negatively affected the development of effective and sufficient leadership skills and seriously damaged the dynamics, efficiency and climate of the organization. In this study, the concepts of educational management and Cinderella complex are explained, studies in our country are mentioned, and the results and suggestions in the context of the study are listed by touching on the relationship of this complex with educational management processes.

A Critical Approach to the Expression of Verbs with Passive Voices / Structured Verbs in Turkish Language Books

Passive verbs are used in legal correspondence, academic studies, daily spoken language, messaging, in short, to emphasize the action, to show humility, to hide the subject. For this reason, teaching the passive voice correctly in Turkish language courses given at universities will be beneficial for students to use the language correctly, especially in academic studies. For this purpose, how the passive voice is handled in Turkish language books prepared for university students was analyzed as a qualitative study through document analysis. Turkish language books of four different universities were analyzed in the study. No explanation or example was found in the four books examined that different personal suffixes other than the third person can be used in verbs with passive voice. Deficiencies were found in the explanations of what the pseudo-subject is and in which cases it is used instead of the object. Giving the example of "he broke the glass / the glass broke", which has been stereotyped for years in the expression of the passive construction, is not suitable for the level, age and readiness level of the students who have reached the university level. As a result, it has been determined that the Turkish language books written for universities are inadequate in the expression of the subject of passivity and that examples suitable for the level of students are not made.

The aim of this scientific research is to statistically analyze the knowledge levels of teachers on recreation studies, taking into account their demographic characteristics as a variable, and to discuss the effectiveness of this subject. The study was conducted in Antalya province, with a sample of teachers working in the area. To facilitate statistical analysis, the research employed a questionnaire that included the Leisure Time Barriers Scale and demographic information. The scale provided scores for sub-dimensions, including lack of interest, individual psychology, facility, time, lack of friends, and lack of knowledge. In the evaluation section, we first conducted descriptive analyses based on demographic information. We then used statistical analyses, including Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney-U tests.

This study aims to demonstrate the relationship between high school students by testing the explanatory models of their patience and grit. The study seeks to answer the questions "Is there a relationship between the patience and grit of high school students?" and “Do high school students’ interpersonal patience, long-term patience, and short-term patience predict the consistency of interest and persistence in effort dimensions of grit?”. The study group comprises 1155 students determined by the multistage sampling method among those studying in secondary education institutions in two metropolitan cities in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. In the study, the Grit-S adapted to Turkish by Sarıçam et al., (2016) developed by Duckworth and Quinn (2009) to measure students’ grit, was used, and the Patience Scale developed by Schnitker (2012) and adapted to Turkish by Eliuşuk and Arslan (2016) was employed to measure their patience. According to the results of the study, there is a positive significant relationship between the interpersonal patience, long-term patience, and short-term patience scores of high school students’ patience and the consistency of interest and persistence in effort scores of their grit. The interpersonal patience, long-term patience, and short-term patience sub-dimensions of high school students’ patience predict the variability in the consistency of interest and persistence in effort sub-dimensions of their grit. Based on the research results, actions can be taken to improve students’ grit and patience skills.

This research was conducted to examine the metaphors developed by 4th grade students in Konya city center regarding the concept of mathematics. The study group consists of 290 students who continue their education in the 4th grade of primary school in the 2023-2024 academic year.147 of these students are girls and 143 are boys. Students are told about the mathematics course, “Mathematics is like...”. By giving the expression “because……”, it was aimed to reveal the metaphors they had regarding the concept of mathematics. In this study, the concept of “because” was also included and participants were asked to provide an explanatory justification for the metaphor they produced. In order to reveal the current situation in the study, a descriptive method from qualitative research was used. Qualitative research was used in collecting and analyzing the data obtained in the study. This research was conducted within the framework of the “content analysis” model, which is evaluated within the qualitative research paradigm. Students participating in the research developed 39 metaphors regarding the concept of mathematics. These developed metaphors are grouped into 6 different categories.
