The sample of this study was composed of 573 teacher candidates in three academic branches; Elementary education, Preschool education and Turkish education at Marmara University and Kocaeli University. The data were collected by using a personal information form (7 items: sex, age, name of university, academic branch and ownership of a book case, ownership of a computer) and a 5 point likert scale which is called “Reading Habits Assessment Scale” (18 items). The independent groups t-test and ANOVA were used to analyse the data.
