Abstract

The aim of the research is to develop a reliable and valid scale to determine teacher and teacher candidates’ evaluation competencies and attitudes. After literature review 24 items were created and consulted for experts’ opinion. The final version of the form was applied to 48 teachers and 218 teacher candidates in the province of Eskisehir. Factor analysis was conducted for the data. According to the results of factor analysis, unhandled 2 items were removed from the scale. The scale consisted of 22 items, ranging from factor loadings .479 with .755 As a result of the rotation of the scale, it was composed of four factors. These factors are “Identification of Evaluation Competence ", “Evaluation Competencies ", "Negative Evaluation Attitudes” and "Positive Evaluation Attitudes”. Cronbach's alpha internal reliability coefficient was found as .84. Described variance of the scale was 48.435. Item-total correlation values of the scale were respectively .287 with .609. Item-total correlation values of the scale were changing between .287 and .609. Consequently, 4 factor structures with 5 likert-type “Evaluation Competencies and Attitude Scale” was developed.
