Abstract

This research was done in order to find out whether preschool teachers conduct scienceactivities to improve problem solving abilities of children in 2013-2014 academic year in Ankara.Two preschool teachers chosen by convenient sampling method were participated in theresearch. By observing the teachers during eight science activities, two researchers evaluated theactivities according to Problem Solving Ability Criteria Table. The credibility calculated for twoassessments was 76. It was observed that the teachers provided children to consider aboutinteresting problem cases during science activities; however, teachers played active role insolution stage. Therefore students couldn’t find an opportunity to try their own problemsolutions during activities.
