Abstract

This research tests validity and reliability of Child Parent Relationship Scale which developed by Pianta (1992) to evaluate the relation between child and parents, originally has 30 items and 3 factors, for Turkish fathers who have children in preschool education. In this context, language, content and structure validity and also reliability studies has been made. To gather all datas for validity and reliability, language validity provided scale applied to 150 fathers who have 4-6 years old child in a National Education Ministry pre-school education institution in Kilis. Confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis, The Cronbach’s Alpha internal consistency and test-retest methods were used to analyse datas. The total of Cronbach’s Alpha internal consistency of Tukish form of the scale found .71, for first factor (Positive aspects) .76, 2. factor’s (incompatiblity) internal consistency found ,61 and 3. factor’s (Conflicts) found .62. As a result of statistical analysis, adapted form of scale is formed with 23 items and 3 factors.
