DATA MINING CONCEPT AND DATA MINING APPLICATIONS IN EDUCATION

Abstract
The developments in computer technology render that a huge amount of data can conceal in magnetic mediums easily and cheaply by making data storage systems become widespread. However, the data being warehoused are worthless and mean nothing by themselves. In order to make the data being warehoused become meaningful, they ought to be transformed into knowledge purposefully. Discovering the pattern of data and making them meaningful, data mining methods are used. In this study data mining concepts, data mining models and data mining applications in education are examined.
