Abstract

It has been examined in this research that whether emotion regulation skills differentiate or not with regard to variable of attachment patterns of six year-old children. This research’s independent variable are attachment patterns while its dependent variable are emotion regulation skills. Working group of the research consists of 137 students (70 girls and 67 boys). "Incomplete Stories with Doll Family" to measure points of children’s attachment patterns and "Preschool Self-Regulation Scale" to measure emotion regulation skills have been used in the research. Point averages of emotion regulation skills differentiate on meaningful level with regard to attachment patterns of 6 yers old children. Children who have secure attachment patterns have higher "emotion regulation skill" points than children who have avoidant and negative attachment patterns.
