THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEACHERS’ ORGANIZATIONAL TRUST AND THEIR ENTREPRENEURSHIP LEVEL

Abstract

Creating a positive climate and increasing productivity in an organization depend on employees feeling comfortable and safe. It is a fact that successful institutions aim to be one of the outstanding institutions by adapting themselves to changes, having entrepreneurial characteristics and raising more qualified individuals. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship seen as to be theoretically exist between teachers’ organizational trust to school they work and their and the level of entrepreneurship they have. The population of this study is classroom andbranch teachers working in primary and secondary schools in the province of Esenyurt, Istanbul. 487 teachers (220 classroom and 267 branch teachers) , determined by simple random method, were chosen as sample. In the research, data regarding the level of organizational trust of teachers was collected using The Scale of Organizational Trust in Schools developed by Daboval et al. (1994), translated in Turkish by Kamer (2001) and adjusted for schools by Yılmaz (2005) whereas data regarding the level of entrepreneurship of teachers was collected using Entrepreneurship Scale developed by Yılmaz and Sünbül (2009). It was found that the dimension of sensitivity to employees of the level of organizational trust of teachers is medium and the level of entrepreneurship they have is low.
