Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the consideration of the university students about the copyright concept. In this qualitative study, interview method was used to gather required data. The interviews were conducted with teacher candidates from 76 Department of Early Childhood Education, 96 from Social Studies Education Department, 85 from Department of Turkish Education with Standardized open-ended interview forms developed by the researcher.The questions used in Standardized open-ended interview forms were prepared taking into consideration the notions of the teacher that attended the Department of Early Childhood Education, Social Studies Education Department and Department of Turkish Education. The data gathered through the student's interviews were analyzed by applying content analysis method. Having evaluated the research results, it was concluded that the rate of students' knowledge of the concept and purpose of copyright and of their sensitivity about copyright and showing it with their behaviours is higher in the Turkish Education Department students; stating sensitivity about the copyright concept rate is a bit high in Social Studies Education students; the rate of stating not to be sensitive about the copyright and revealing it with their behaviours is higher in Early Childhood Education Department; in general, there isn't a significant difference with gender perspective in all departments related to the concept of copyright.
