Self –esteem was taken as independent variable and body image was taken as dependent variable. Participants are 259 pre-service teacher who enrolled in a public university at Eskişehir. Two dimentional Self-Esteem Scale and Body-Cathexis Scale were used to collect the data. Simple linear regression tecnique was used to analyze the data. The research results demonstrated that self-competence and self-liking negatively related with negative body image. The less a person has self-competence and self-liking, the more the person a the more negative body image. According to the research results, self-liking and self-competence are significant variables to explain negative body image.},author={Ahmet KARA},year={2017},journal={The Journal of International Educational Sciences}}
