Abstract

It is important to focus on this issue in the light of the lack of research on self-efficacy and attitudes towards the teaching profession. The aim of the study is to determine the relation between self-efficacy and attitude beliefs towards the teaching profession of teacher candidates and examine this situation in terms of various variables. The sample of the study consisted of 505 teacher candidates who were educated at the Faculty of Education of Akdeniz University in the academic year 2016-2017. The research was carried out with a screening design. As a result of this study, the self-efficacy belief of the teacher candidates towards the teaching profession did not show any significant difference in terms of various variables; Attitude belief, there is a meaningful difference in terms of some variables. Finally, it has been found that there is a moderate relationship between self-efficacy and attitude beliefs toward the teaching profession.
