Distance Education Middle School is an institution which students continue their educational life who are not able to benefit from advantages of the face to face education and classroom activities. In this study 5th Grade Distance Education Turkish Course Book has been studied in a critical point of view in terms of conditions and opportunities for the Distance Education Middle School students. The study is in the model of the document review. The data were obtained from 5th Grade Distance Education Turkish Course Book distributed for the 2017-2018 educational year. This book which is also taught in normal educational institutions, was examined in parallel with the themes under the headings "Preparing for the Course, Preparing Activities and Preparing for the Future Course" and tried to determine the sections which are not suitable for the principles of distance education. In addition, the activities that students may have difficulty with were revealed with their reasons; which topics and examples should be included in the book was discoursing. As a result of the research, it was found that the Turkish textbook distributed to the students of Distance Education Middle School was the same as the book taught in the formal education institutions, and it required in-class practices and teacher guidance.
