Abstract
In the study, a total of 5 science café events were carried out, one activity per month. The study group consisted of 28 seventh-grade students studying at a state school during the 2022-2023 academic year. The research design was a mixed-methods research. In the study, "The Scientific Attitude Scale" and "The Attitude and Image Scale towards Scientists" were used as quantitative data collection tools. Semi-structured interviews, daily journals were kept by students after each science café, and drawings of scientists drawn by students before and after the study were used as qualitative data collection tools. Quantitative data were analyzed using the SPSS package program, and qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. According to the quantitative findings of the study; a significant difference was observed between pretest-posttest score averages in the "Scientific Attitude Scale" and "Attitude and Image Scale towards Scientists." Findings obtained from scientist drawings, interviews, and journals were evaluated, and students' perspectives on science cafés and scientists were revealed.

Çalışmada her ay bir etkinlik olmak üzere toplam 5 bilim kafe etkinliği gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören 28 ortaokul yedinci sınıf öğrencisidir. Araştırmanın deseni karma yöntem araştırmasıdır. Çalışmada nicel veri toplama aracı olarak “Bilimsel Tutum Ölçeği” ve “Bilim İnsanına Yönelik Tutum ve İmaj Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Nitel veri toplama aracı olarak ise yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler, öğrencilerin her bilim kafe sonrası tuttuğu günlükler, çalışma öncesi ve sonrasında öğrencilere çizdirilen bilim insanı çizimleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verileri SPSS paket programı ile, nitel verileri ise içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın nicel bulgularına göre; “Bilimsel Tutum Ölçeği” ve “Bilim İnsanına Yönelik Tutum ve İmaj Ölçeği” genelinde öntest-sontest puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık gözlemlenmiştir. Yine bilim insanı çizimlerinden, görüşmelerden ve günlüklerden elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilmiş ve öğrencilerin bilim kafelere ve bilim insanlarına ilişkin bakış açıları ortaya konmuştur.
