Abstract
Okullarda eğitim-öğretim sürecinin sağlıklı bir şekilde sürdürülebilmesi; okulun fizikî imkânlar, güvenlik ve disiplin gibi önemli ihtiyaçlarının giderilmesiyle mümkündür. Özellikle okul güvenliğinin sağlanması noktasında ise en önemli görev nöbetçi öğretmenlere düşmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlerin okul nöbet görevleri hakkındaki düşüncelerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma betimsel nitelikte olup, durum çalışması deseni ile oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2013-2014 eğitim-öğretim yılında Çanakkale ve İstanbul’da Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı ilköğretim devlet okullarında görev yapan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanmış olan yönlendirici olmayan soruları içeren yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde nitel araştırma yöntemine uygun olarak içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizi sonucunda ilköğretim öğretmenlerinin çoğunluğunun okul nöbet görevini ders dışı zamanlarda öğrencilerin düzen ve kontrolünü sağlamak ve okul güvenliğini sağlamak şeklinde tanımladıkları belirlenirken; okul nöbet görevinin gerekliliği, okulun işleyişine katkısı ve okul nöbet görevi kapsamında sahip olunması gereken sorumluluklar ile ilgili öğretmenlerin farklı görüşler belirttikleri görülmüştür.

Abstract
Education process to be conducted properly is only possible on the condition that needs such as physical opportunities, security and discipline are required. Especially in the point of providing school security, the most important duty falls on guard teachers. The purpose of this research is to determine the thoughts of the teachers about the school guard duty. Research is descriptive, and it has been prepared with case study model. Study group of research consists of teachers serving at primary state schools which are under the control of Ministry of National Education at 2013-2014 school year at Istanbul and Canakkale. Data of research is achieved with structured interview form, prepared by the researchers, including questions which are not directive. At the analysis of data, content analysis technique suitable for qualitative research method has been used. At the result of data analysis of research, it has been detected that most of the primary school teachers identify the school guard duty as providing order and control of students at break and as ensuring school security, and it has been seen that teachers state different opinions about necessity of school guard duty, contribution to functioning of schools and responsibilities to have within school guard duty.
