Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin okula bağlılıkları ile akademik başarıları ve okul etkililikleri arasındaki ilişkiler örüntüsünü incelemektir. Bu araştırmada nicel araştırma modellerinden ilişkisel tarama deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, İstanbul/Ümraniye İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı resmi ortaokullarda eğitim gören 918 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Veriler, “Okula Bağlılık Ölçeği” ve “Okul Etkililiği Ölçeği (Öğrenci Versiyonu) tarafından toplanmış, SPSS paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; ortaokul öğrencilerinin sınıf seviyeleri yükseldikçe etkili okul algıları ve okula bağlılıkları düşmektedir. Bunun yanında öğrencilerin okula bağlılıkları arttıkça akademik başarılarında da artış olduğu saptanmıştır. Etkili okul değişkeninin ise ortaokul öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarını alt boyutlar ve toplam puana göre incelendiğinde etkilemediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Okula bağlılık ve okul etkililiği değişkenleri arasındaki ilişki incelendiğinde ise pozitif yönlü bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin etkili okul algıları güçlendikçe okula bağlılıkları artmaktadır.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship pattern between secondary school students' engagement with school, their academic achievement and school effectiveness. In this study, relational survey design, one of the quantitative research models, was used. The sample of the study consists of 918 students studying at official secondary schools affiliated to Istanbul / Ümraniye District National Education Directorate. The data were collected by the “School Engagement Scale” and the “School Effectiveness Scale (Student Version). The data were analyzed using SPSS package program. According to the results of the research; As the grade levels of middle school students increase, their perception of effective school and their engagement to school decrease. In addition, it was found that as the students' commitment to school increased, their academic achievement also increased. It was found that the effective school variable did not affect the academic achievement of middle school students according to the sub-dimensions and total score. When the relationship between school engagement and school effectiveness variables was examined, a positive relationship was found. As students' perception of effective school gets stronger, their engagement to school increases.
