Abstract
Bu araştırma, lise öğrencilerinde şiddet eğilimi ve şişirilmiş benlik duygusu arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlişkisel tarama modelinde desenlenen bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu; 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında Kayseri ilinde devlet liselerinde öğrenim gören ve uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 3641 lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri; “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Şiddet Eğilimi Ölçeği” ve “Şişirilmiş Benlik Duygusu Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; öğrencilerin şiddet eğilimleri ile şişirilmiş benlik duyguları arasında pozitif yönde orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Araştırmada erkek öğrencilerin şiddet eğilimleri ve bencillik ile kendini abartma enflasyonu alt boyutlarında şişirilmiş benlik duyguları kadın öğrencilere göre daha yüksek, manipülasyon enflasyonu alt boyutunda ise daha düşük bulunmuştur. Araştırmada ayrıca parçalanmış aile çocuklarının hem şiddet eğilimleri hem de şişirilmiş benlik duyguları, kardeşi olmayan öğrencilerin ise bencillik enflasyonunda şişirilmiş benlik duyguları daha yüksek saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonucundan hareketle, şiddetle mücadele edilebilmesi amacıyla toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği eğitimlerinin, aile eğitimlerinin ve risk altındaki gruplara yönelik önleyici hizmetlerin artırılması gerektiği düşünülmektedir.

Abstract
This research was performed in order to examine the relationship between violence tendency and inflated sense of self among high school students. The study group of this research, which was designed in the relational scanning model; consists of 3641 high school students studying in state high schools in Kayseri province in the 2021-2022 academic year and determined by convenient sampling method. The data of the research were collected with “Personal Information Form”, “Violence Tendency Scale” and “Inflated Sense of Self Scale”. Following the research, a moderately significant positive correlation was established between students' violence tendencies and inflated sense of self. In the study, male students' inflated sense of self was found to be higher in the sub-dimensions of violence tendencies and selfishness and self-exaggeration, and lower in the manipulation inflation sub-dimension compared to female students. It was also found in the study that the children of broken families had higher tendencies of violence and inflated sense of self while students who did not have siblings had higher feelings of inflated sense of self in selfish inflation. It is thought based on the results of the research that gender equality trainings, family trainings and preventive services for groups at risk should be increased in order to combat violence.
