Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmen Adaylarının Etkin Vatandaşlık Kavramına İlişkin Bilişsel Yapılarının İncelenmesi

Abstract
Sosyal bilgiler dersi, aktif vatandaşlar oluşturmayı hedefler. Bu ders sayesinde öğrenciler eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünce, etkili iletişim, empati oluşturma, iş birliği gibi değerleri öğrenirler. Bu becerilerle, bireyler sorumluluk sahibi, farklı görüşlere saygılı bireyler haline gelir ve anayasadaki hak ve özgürlüklerini bilerek sorunları barışçıl yollarla çözerler. Devletler, dönemin şartlarına göre yükümlülükler oluşturup vatandaşları için görev paylaşımı yaparak modern dünyaya adapte olur. Bireylerin toplumsal değerlere sahip olması, vatandaşlık eğitimi ile mümkündür. Vatandaşlık anlayışı, bireyleri devletle ve toplumla birleştiren önemli bir unsurdur. Bu çalışmada, sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının "aktif vatandaşlık" kavramına dair düşünceleri ele alınmıştır. 1. ve 4. sınıf öğretmen adayları arasında bu kavrama dair algılar karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar, öğretmen adaylarının bu konsepte yeterince hakim olduğunu ve bilimsel temellere dayalı ifadeler kullandığını göstermektedir, özellikle 4. sınıf seviyesinde bu tür ifadelerin arttığını belirtmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının kavramsal yanılgıları da minimum seviyededir.

Abstract
Social studies course aims to create active citizens. Thanks to this course, students learn values such as critical and creative thinking, effective communication, empathy, and cooperation. With these skills, individuals become responsible, respectful of different views, and solve problems peacefully, knowing their rights and freedoms in the constitution. States adapt to the modern world by creating obligations according to the conditions of the period and sharing duties for their citizens. It is possible for individuals to have social values through citizenship education. The understanding of citizenship is an important element that unites individuals with the state and society. In this study, social studies teacher candidates' thoughts about the concept of "active citizenship" were discussed. Perceptions of this concept were compared between 1st and 4th grade teacher candidates. The results show that teacher candidates have sufficient command of this concept and use scientifically based expressions, especially at the 4th grade level. Pre-service teachers' conceptual misconceptions are also at a minimum level.
