The aim of this research, is to analyze the effect of family literacy programs on elementary school first grade students reading attitudes and literacy skills. There are 14 first grade students, their parents and their classroom teacher conducted in this research which is designed according to action research pattern under the qualitative research patterns. Reading Attitude Scale, Observation Forms and Running Records were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics and content analysis is given. Parents reported that their child's attitude towards reading is improved positively. According to the students attitude towards reading average, all of the students reading speed points are increased. In addition, according to the findings of the observation form, it was concluded that the observed situations of the students such as the desire to read books, the desire to learn to read and write, and the desire to use their literacy skills are quite good.
